DBBL, Asiatic sign mobile salary payment deal
Dutch-Bangla Bank Ltd (DBBL) and Asiatic Laboratories Ltd have recently signed an agreement on mobile banking services at the DBBL head office, says a press release. The agreement was signed by Monir Ahmed, managing director of Asiatic Laboratories Ltd, and Mir Mominul Huq, head of mobile banking division of DBBL.
Under this agreement, employees of Asiatic Laboratories Ltd will receive their monthly salaries in their DBBL mobile banking accounts.
After receiving their salaries in their mobile accounts, employees will be able to withdraw/ deposit cash from any nearby agent, DBBL branches and ATMs, transfer money to other mobile accounts, buy goods and services from retailers and pay utility bills throughout the country and moreover will get the opportunity of banking with a Bank.
K S Tabrez, managing director, Abul Kashem Md Shirin, and Md Sayedul Hasan, deputy managing directors of Dutch-Bangla Bank, were also present.

Robi-Jamuna Bank deal on mobile remittance
Matiul Islam Nowshad, Chief Human Resources Officer of Robi, and Md. Motior Rahman, Managing Director of Jamuna Bank Limited, exchange documents after signing an agreement in Dhaka.
Robi Axiata Limited and Jamuna Bank Limited signed an agreement on channeling remittance through mobile telecom network.
Matiul Islam Nowshad, Chief Human Resources Officer of Robi and, Md Motior Rahman, Managing Director, Jamuna Bank Limited signed the agreement in Dhaka recently, said a press release.
Under this agreement, beneficiary will have to show or submit a photocopy of original National ID card/passport/driving license and transaction ID to the Robi Service Partner (RSP) outlet to collect the money.
After verification of RSP, the remitted amount will be paid to the beneficiary. Customers of any mobile operator can receive remittance service from RSP free of cost.
Matiul Islam Nowshad said, “This will strengthen Robi's commitment to its customers as m-remittance will make remittance collection more convenient.”
Besides, this is an easy, most convenient and secured way to receive foreign remittances. Selected retailers/distributors of Robi will act as cash out points from where the beneficiaries can withdraw the remitted amounts, he added.

MoneyGram inks deal with NBL to expand network
Harsh Lambah, Senior Regional Director of MoneyGram for South Asia, and Neaz Ahmed, Managing Director of National Bank Ltd, seen at a function in Dhaka Tuesday.
MoneyGram International signed an agreement with National Bank Limited on expanding its netwrok in Bangladesh.
Under this agreement, National Bank will act as MoneyGram’s new growing agent here and has already added more than 155 National Bank locations to MoneyGram’s existing strong network throughout the country.
Harsh Lambah, Senior Regional Director of MoneyGram for South Asia, and Neaz Ahmed, Managing Director of National Bank Ltd jointly announced this in Dhaka Tuesday.
“We are proud of our new association with National Bank, as they are a local leader with extensive experience in the money transfer space,” said Lambah.
National Bank, the first private sector bank fully-owned by Bangladeshi citizens, has locations spread across the country, with a significant presence in the cities of Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet.
“National Bank is experienced in providing money transfer services and we are very pleased to offer MoneyGram’s service to our customers,” said Neaz Ahmed.

StanChart Bank signs MoU with Singapore Air
Standard Chartered Bank Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Singapore Airlines at its head office in Dhaka.
Gitanka Datta, Head of Cards of Standard Chartered Bank and Kam Zhi Wei, Station Manager for Dhaka and Singapore Airlines signed the agreement recently, said a press release.
Md Mahiul Islam, GM of Standard Chartered Bank, Rifat Kader, Head of Sales of Singapore and senior officials of both the organisations were present at the signing ceremony.
Under this MoU, Standard Chartered VISA Signature cardholders will enjoy 50 percent off on second ticket and 25 percent off on third ticket acquisition from Singapore Airlines.
They will get benefit for carrying 10 kgs of excess luggage and priority checking at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport while travelling through Singapore Airlines.

The agreement was signed by Mohammed Ali Pasha, managing director of Seven Circle, Bangladesh Ltd, and Mir Mominul Huq, head of mobile banking division of DBBL.
Under this agreement, employees of Seven Circle, Bangladesh will receive their monthly salaries and commission in their DBBL mobile banking accounts.
After receiving their salaries in their mobile accounts, employees will be able to withdraw or deposit cash from any nearby agent, DBBL branches and ATMs, transfer money to other mobile accounts, buy goods and services from retailers and pay utility bills throughout the country.
