SCB opens Kiosk at Westin Dhaka
Standard Chartered Bank Bangladesh has strengthened its footprint in Dhaka with the opening of the first Priority Financial Kiosk exclusively for priority banking customers at The Westin Dhaka.
With this new Financial Kiosk the total numbers of kiosks in the country have increased to 22, which goes on to show its brand promise of ‘Here for good’, said a press release.
With this new Priority Financial Kiosk, priority banking customers can enjoy the environment of the lavish lounge and the meeting room that will cater to their service needs.
Customers can also withdraw and deposit cash, pay bills, request for cheque books, transfer fund and many more 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The Priority Financial Kiosk will also provide customer service from 9 am to 8 pm from Sunday to Thursday, 10 am to 1 pm and 3pm to 6pm on Fridays and 10 am to 6pm on Saturdays.
Jim McCabe, CEO, Sandeep Bose, Head of Consumer Banking, Zubayer Ershad, General Manager Premium Banking, Md Mahiul Islam, General Manager Marketing and Servicing Quality along with other high officials of the bank were present.
Dhaka Bank marks 18th anniversary
Khondker Fazle Rashid, Managing Director of Dhaka Bank, inaugurates the 18th anniversary of the bank at the bank’s head office in Dhaka on Saturday.

SIBL opens branch at Debidwar
The 92nd branch of Social Islami Bank Limited (SIBL) was inaugurated at College Road at Debidwar in Comilla on Thursday.
Md. Abdul Awal Patwary, Director of the bank inaugurated the branch as the chief guest, said a press release.

BB organises ‘moving towards excellence’ workshop
A two-day long strategic planning workshop of Bangladesh Bank (BB) titled ‘Moving towards excellence’ began at a city hotel today.
BB Governor Dr Atiur Rahman inaugurated the workshop while Executive Director of Strategic Planning Unit Md. Ahsan Ullah and deputy governors addressed it, said a BB press release.
Atiur Rahman, in his address, highlighted diverse facets of central bank’s functions in which the workshop should review progress and chart progress path for way forward.
In particular, governor pointed out BB’s successes in bolstering macroeconomic stability and moderating inflation. He also mentioned media reports about alleged weaknesses in financial sector supervision with reference to recent scam episodes.
He stressed the need for upgrading BB’s communication practices for effective dissemination of BB’s stances.
The governor urged all participants in the workshop to rise to the occasion in charting an exciting progress path ahead for BB towards excellence.
At the outset of the workshop, one-minute silence was observed in remembrance of lately ex-BB Governor Lutfor Rahman Sarker.
Tarek Reaz Khan new DMD of Premier Bank
