A workshop on “Documentation and Mortgage Procedures” organised by Social Islami Bank Limited (SIBL) Training Institute was held at the Corporate Office of the bank recently.

Major (Retd) Dr. Md. Rezaul Haque, Chairman, Board of Directors of the bank inaugurated the workshop, said a press release.

Md. Shafiqur Rahman, Managing Director of the bank presided over the workshop.

Md. Younus Ali, Deputy Managing Director and Abu Sadek Md. Sohel Principal of the training institute were also present on the occasion.

Eastern Bank Limited (EBL) recently signed an agreement with Europcar Bangladesh to offer exclusive complimentary airport pick-up and drop services to its Priority Customers at EBL Head Office in Dhaka.

Nazeem A Choudhury, Head of Business, Consumer Banking, EBL and Shams A. Mashood, Chief Operating Officer, Europcar Bangladesh signed the MOU on behalf of their companies, said a press release.

Bank Asia Limited organised a day-long orientation programme on 'Islamic Banking' at its Corporate Office in Dhaka on Saturday.

Some 28 heads of branches participated in the programme, said a press release.

The programme was organised to give a brief idea about Islamic banking, its products as well as 'Salamah' Islamic Banking of Bank Asia.

 Trust Bank Limited opened branch at Kushtia Sadar in Kushtia recently.

 The state-owned Janata Bank Limited distributed financial assistance to 22 title holder Freedom Fighters (FFs) for their outstanding contributions in the War of Liberation in 1971 in Barisal.

The financial assistance was distributed in three categories. Of them, very poor category were provided Tk 350,000, poor category Tk 2,00,000 and low-middle class category received Tk 1,00,000 on the basis of financial ability, said a press release.
