Training for MTB Unit Fund sales agents held

Alliance Capital Asset Management Limited (ACAML), asset manager of MTB Unit Fund, held training sessions for the sales agents of the fund in the city yesterday.

MTB Unit Fund is an open-ended fund with an initial size of Tk 100 crore. Mutual Trust Bank Limited has provided Tk 20 crore as the sponsor of the fund. Bangladesh General Insurance Company Limited is the Trustee and BRAC Bank Limited is the Custodian of the fund.

As an open-ended fund, MTB Unit Fund will not be listed on the stock exchanges. Units of the fund, initial subscription of which starts from 15 April 2012, will be sold from 115 sales centres of 21 sales agents across the country.

These sales centres will make it easy for the investors to buy, sell or transfer their units without any hassle. MTB Unit fund is the first open-ended fund with certificates in dematerialised form and comes to the market at a time when the DSE P/E ratio is hovering around 14.

The sales agents were trained thoroughly about the product and also the sales and repurchase procedures as they will have to answer queries of the investors, accept applications, repurchase or transfer forms and deliver necessary papers or cheques to them.

NBL holds training course for junior officers

M Badiul Alam, Additional Managing Director of National Bank Limited, addresses the inaugural function of a foundation training course of the Bank in Dhaka recently. National Bank Training Institute of the Bank conducted the course for its Junior Officers (Cash).

National Bank Limited (NBL) held a training course for its Junior Officers (Cash) in Dhaka recently.

M Badiul Alam, additional managing director of the Bank, inaugurated the function attending as chief guest, said a press release.

Principal of National Bank Training Institute, which is conducting the course, M Majibur Rahman and NBL Senior Assistant Vice President Zahir Uddin Mohd Babar, and senior faculty members of the institute, were also present at the function, among others.

A total of 35 Junior Officers (Cash) are taking part in the training.

NCC Bank arranges training course

NCC Bank Ltd recently organized a two-day long training course on 'Branch Management' for the potential managers of the Bank at Bank's Training Institute.

Md. Nurun Newaz Salim, Chairman of the Bank inaugurated the workshop as chief guest. Mohammed Nurul Amin, Managing Director of the Bank attended the function as special guest.

In his inaugural speech Chairman of the Bank Md. Nurun Newaz Selim advised the potential managers to face the stiff competition and utilize training knowledge efficiently and effectively to achieve organizational goal.

Additional Managing Director Golam Hafiz Ahmed and Deputy Managing Director T. M. Faruque Chowdhury also spoke on the occasion.

Social Islami Bank Limited (SIBL) Training Institute handed over certificates to the participants of ‘Foundation Course in Banking’.

Muhammad Ali, SIBL’s managing director (MD), distributed the certificates at a function at the Bank’s head office in Dhaka recently, says a press release.

AMM Farhad, deputy managing director (DMD) and M Shams-Uddin Ahmed, executive vice president (EVP), were also present at the function chaired by Md Tahirul Islam, principal of the SIBL Training Institute.
