FSIBL holds foundation course for cash officers

First Security Islami Bank Limited organised a foundation training course for its cash officers at the training centre of the Bank recently.
AAM Zakaria, Managing Director of FSIBL inaugurated the course, said a press release Thursday.
Zakaria, in his inaugural speech, emphasised on upgrading the Bank to a modern one and advised all to discharge their duties with honesty and sincerity.

SMEs receive free training on tax, VAT
The SME Foundation started training the country's small and medium entrepreneurs on tax and value added tax for free to help them run businesses properly, officials said.
The state-run agency responsible for promoting SMEs across the country has taken steps to organise workshops in four divisional cities in the upcoming fiscal year of 2012-13.
Under the programme, a three-day training workshop to provide training to 40 SME entrepreneurs from Dhaka region began on Tuesday at the office of the foundation in Dhaka, said an official of the agency.
At the workshop, the participants got detailed ideas on topics tax and VAT laws, the loading and unloading system of imported and exported goods, and VAT registration and tax identification certificates.
Syed Rezwanul Kabir, chief executive officer of the SME Foundation, presided over the inaugurating ceremony. Farid Uddin, a member of the National Board of Revenue, and Mohammad Shahab Uddin, a former member of the NBR, were also present.
Forty entrepreneurs from Chittagong region already received training on tax and VAT related issues.
The foundation will organise the same workshop in Khulna and Rajshahi later.

NBL’s environmental risk management training held

National Bank Training Institute (NBTI) organised a day-long training programme on ‘Envir- onm- ental Risk Management: Concept, Policy and Case Study” in the city recently for executives of the Bank.
The training was organised under the Bank’s executive development program (EDP), says a press release.
Neaz Ahmed, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of National Bank Limited inaugurated the training course as the chief guest.
A total of 37 executives including 30 branch managers attended the training programme.

NBL holds management training
National Bank Training Institute (NBTI) organised a short training course on ‘Leadership in Management Process’ in the city recently.
A number of 29 mid-level executives participated in the course, said a press release.
Neaz Ahmed, Managing Director and CEO of the Bank, distributed certificates among the participants where SM Jaffar, deputy managing director, was present as special guest.
Md Majibur Rahman, principal of the NBTI, and Zahir Uddin Md. Babar, SAVP, and senior faculty members of the institute, among others, also attended the function.
