The 307th meeting of the board of directors of Al-Arafah Islami Bank was held at the boardroom of the bank on Thursday.
Alhajj Abdus Samad (Labu), Chairman, board of directors of the bank presided over the meeting, said a press release.
Vice Chairman of the Board Alhajj Abdus Salam, members Badiur Rahman, Alhajj Md. Harun-Ar-Rashid Khan, Alhajj Abdul Malek Mollah, Alhaj Hafez Md.

The board of directors of Southeast Bank Limited in its 514th meeting on Monday elected Duluma Ahmed as new vice chairperson of the bank.

 Duluma Ahmed was born on July 7, 1947. She hails from a very respectable Muslim family.

She is a sponsor director of the bank and a member of the audit committee of the board of directors of the bank, said a press release.

  She is associated with business activities. She is the Director of Mutual Food Products Limited, Mutual Milk Products Ltd., Mutual Trading Co. Ltd. She is the partner of Mutual Distribution and Silonia Agencies.

 Duluma Ahmed is also associated with philanthropic activities. She is the founder of Duluma Azim High School. She is the patron of Azimia Islamia Senior Madrasha and Fatema Farzana Kindergarten School in Chhagalnaiya, Feni.

 She is a member of Gulshan Ladies Community Club and Inner Wheel Club of Dhaka North. As a social worker, she is generously contributing to the poor and the needy section of the society. She traveled many countries of the world.

The board of directors of Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd (IBBL) removed Syed Ahsanul Alam from his post of vice chairman at the bank following the demands made by shareholders.

Ahsanul, however, will continue as an independent director and there will be one post of vice chairman at the bank from now on.

The decision was taken at the board meeting held immediately after the bank’s 34th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Kurmitola Golf Club on Tuesday.

The board has decided to keep one post of vice chairman and Yousif Abdullah Al-Rajhi will continue with this post, Arastoo Khan, chairman of the bank, told reporters after the board meeting.

He said Ahsanul has been removed from the post of vice-chairman but he will act as an independent director at the bank.

Ahsanul, who joined the bank in May 2016, was not seen to be present at the AGM and board meeting held today.
