BRAC Bank Best Managed Bank by The Asian Banker Its MD wins The Leadership Achievement Award

BRAC Bank has won the prestigious “The Best Managed Bank Award” for achievement in the period of 2011-2013.

Besides, Managing Director and CEO of the bank Syed Mahbubur Rahman has been accorded with “The Asian Banker Leadership Achievement Award” for Bangladesh, said a press release.

Syed Mahbubur Rahman formally received the awards at The Asian Banker Summit 2013 at Ritz Carlton Jakarta in Indonesia recently. The Asian Banker Leadership Achievement Award is widely acknowledged by the financial services industry as the highest possible accolade available to professionals in the industry as recognised in the Asia Pacific and Gulf regions.

The recognition is a special one as it is given only once in every three years for excellence in banking.

More than 1,000 senior bankers from 20 countries across the Asia Pacific region attended the Asian Banker Summit, which is Asia’s foremost event on transformational issues in the financial services industry.

The award is accorded through a completely independent evaluation by a panel of global leaders and subject matter experts as advisors.

Singapore-based The Asian Banker is regarded as one of Asia’s leading consultancies in financial services research, bench-marking and intelligence.

After receiving the award, Syed Mahbubur Rahman, said, “This is an honor for all of us, all 8,000 people at BRAC Bank. We consider this international recognition as impetus to reach new height.”

Ali Reza reappointed EBL MD

Ali Reza Iftekhar

The Board of Directors of Eastern Bank has extended the service contract of its managing director and CEO Ali Reza Iftekhar for a further period of three years, said a press release.


Ali Reza joined the bank in 2004 as a deputy managing director and assumed the office of the MD and CEO in 2007. 


Iftekhar started his career with BCCI Overseas Bangladesh in 1985 as a probationary officer and went on to work for Banque Indosuez and Standard Chartered Bank in various capacities both at home and abroad.

Mohammed Nurul Amin, Managing Director and CEO of NCC Bank, inaugurates new premises of Malibagh branch at Malibagh Chowdhurypara in Dhaka Sunday.

 

Malibagh Branch of NCC Bank Limited has been relocated at Malibagh Chowdhurypara in Dhaka Sunday.

Mohammed Nurul Amin, Managing Director and CEO of the bank formally inaugurated the new premises as chief guest, said a press release.

Khondoker Rumy made DMD of EXIM Bank

Khondoker Rumy Ehsanul Huq was recently promoted to Deputy Managing Director (DMD) of EXIM Bank.
Prior to his promotion,

he was Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Large-Corporate-Syndication, MIS and RMG Division of the bank, said a pres release.


Khondoker Rumy Ehsanul Huq started his banking career with National Bank Limited in 1983.
He obtained his Accounting (Hons) degree from the University of Dhaka and MBA degree from the University of Central Oklahoma in USA.


Khandoker completed Diplomaed Associate of the Institute of Bankers Bangladesh (DAIBB). He joined EXIM Bank in 1999 since the inception of the bank and performed as manager of different branches.
