AB Bank Limited organised a day-long workshop titled ‘Overview and Impact of Financial Stability Report 2010’ prepared by Bangladesh Bank (BB) in the city recently.

Executive director of BB S K Sur Chowdhury presented keynote speech at the function says a press release.

The Bank’s chairman M Wahidul Haque, director M A Awal and managing director Kaiser A Chowdhury were also present.

Around100 executives working in different levels of AB Bank participated in the workshop.

Bank Asia Limited recently organised a two-day workshop for improving professional efficiency and retail banking skills of its staff in the city. President and managing director of the Bank Md. Mehmood Husain formally inaugurated the workshop, says a press release.

The Bank’s senior executive vice president and chief business officer (SMR) Md. Arfan Ali, executive vice president and manager of principal branch Mohammad Borhanuddin, AVP and head of consumer credit Md. Omar Hayat Chowdhury, and first assistant vice president Md. Forhad Mohammed Masum, among others, were also present at the inaugural function.

A number of 23 assistant relationship officers took part in the workshop organised by Consumer Credit Department of Bank Asia The workshop dealt with the issues like ethics in banking, prospects of consumer credit in Bangladesh, risk management for consumer credit, documentation formalities for house financing, auto loan and other products, control and compliance of consumer credit and motivation factors.

Premier Bank Limited has organised a day-long seminar on “EFTN Operation: Rules and Procedures” at the Premier Bank Training Institute on Sunday.

The Bank organised the seminar for assisting with the department of currency management and payment systems of Bangladesh Bank, said a press release.

Ihsanul Aziz, managing director (CC) of the Premier Bank Limited inaugurated the seminar as chief guest.

A four-day long regional training workshop titled “Beyond Inflation Target: Policy Options and Instruments for Sustainable Growth and Equitable Development” will begin in Dhaka on 19 December.

AMA Muhith, Finance Minister is expected to inaugurate the workshop at Hotel Sonargaon, said a BB press release.

United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) and Bangladesh Bank will jointly organise the training workshop.
