Al-Arafah Bank holds discussion on Ramadan

Al-Arafah Islami Bank Limited, organised a discussion meeting on 'Mahe Ramjaner Shik- kha o Tatporjo' (teachings and importance of holy Ramadan) followed by an Iftar Mahfil at its VIP Road branch office on Monday.
Md. Habibur Rahm- an, Managing Director of the bank was present in the meeting as chief guest, said a press release.
SM Kowsar, Branch Manager and Vice President of the bank presided over the meeting.
RAKUB Chairman gets three years job extension
The government has extended the tenure of Rajshahi Krishi Unna-yan Bank's Chairman Professor Dr. M Shah Nowaz Ali by three years.
The appointment letter was issued on Tuesday as per section 7 of RAKUB Ordinance of 1986, said a press release.
It is notable that he was earlier appointed chairman of the board of directors of RAKUB on July 22, 2010 last.
BB unveils agri credit policy today
Bangladesh Bank will announce the agriculture and rural credit policy and programmes today for the current financial year 2013-14 with a disbursement target of Tk 14,595 crore.
The target is around 3.29 per cent higher than the target of Tk 14,130 crore for the just concluded FY 2012-13.
BB governor Atiur Rahman will announce the policy at a press conference at the central bank headquarters in the city.
All the banks collectively disbursed Tk 14,667.49 crore, or 103.80 per cent, of the annual target of Tk 13,180 crore, in farm loans in the FY 2012-13.
A BB official told New Age on Sunday that the
new policy would set fresh rules and regulations to stimulate farm loan disbursement.
According to the new BB farm loan policy, the scheduled banks will have to disburse agricultural loans through
the Tk 10 farmer’s account apart from exceptional cases, he said.

Southeast Bank opens branch at Sharulia
Southeast Bank Limited has expanded its branch network by opening its 97th branch at Sharulia at Demra in Dhaka recently.
Shahid Hossain, Managing Director of the bank, inaugurated the branch, said a press release.
SM Mainuddin Chowdhury, DMD, Khurshid Hasan Siddiqui, Head of Sharulia Branch, local businessmen, customers, educationists, and local elites were present.
