Uttara Bank to strengthen IT support

World-leading software company, Microsoft has signed an enterprise agreement with Uttara Bank Limited at the capital on Tuesday, says a press release.
As a 50-years old traditional bank, this is a milestone step for Uttara Bank to strengthen their IT backbone to provide faster and convenient banking services to their customers. Sheikh Abdul Aziz, managing director of Uttara Bank Limited, and Pubudu Basnayake, country manager, Microsoft Bangladesh, signed the agreement. Under the agreements, Microsoft will deliver various server software to Uttara Bank to use for their identity and network management, datacenter management, advance messaging and collaboration solutions across their organisations. Uttara Bank will also use Microsoft technologies for IT security, virtualisation and document management.
As per the agreement, Uttara bank will get new version of Microsoft software, direct technical support, online and class-room training for IT Pro and users, round-the-clock web supports and other admissible benefits. Microsoft will provide particular consulting services to deploy latest Microsoft technologies following the international standard best-practices.
Jamie Harper, general manager, Southeast Asia, Microsoft Asia Pacific, was present on the signing ceremony occasion.
Managing director of Uttara Bank Limited stated that, this agreement will help the bank to deploy stronger security features and will increase their user productivity in a much greater aspect that will eventually help providing better services to the bank’s customers.
Jamie Harper, president, Southeast Asia, Microsoft Asia Pacific, shared in his speech that this is not only an agreement Microsoft products, this is an important step for Uttara Bank into their journey of transforming to a technology-centric business and working culture. Microsoft is proud to be part of this evolutionary journey.

Bariqullah promoted to NBL DMD

yed Mohammad Bariqullah was promoted to Deputy Managing Director of National Bank Limited (NBL).

He joined the bank in 2008 as Senior Executive Vice President, said a press release.

Earlier, he was chief risk officer to supervise the segment of Risk Management, Credit Risk Management and Green Banking Unit of the bank.

He joined IFIC Bank in 1984 as a probationary officer and worked in credit, foreign exchange and operations in branches and head office.

He served Eastern Bank Ltd, The City Bank Ltd as head of international division, treasury, trade services, internal control and compliance, information technology and retail divisions.

Pubali Bank joins School Banking Confce in Ctg

Pubali Bank Limited participated the School Banking Conference held in Bangladesh Bank colony ground in Chittagong recently.

Al-Arafah Bank signs MoU with HAAB

Al-Arafah Islami Bank Limited recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) at the board room of the bank.

Under this agreement, HAAB will now use online banking facilities of all branches of Al-Arafah Islami Bank, said a press release.

Prime Bank signs MoU with Hotel Agrabad
