China's central bank on Tuesday pumped the most funds in a single day since February 2013 into the financial system in open market operations to ease liquidity before the week-long Spring Festival holiday. 

The People's Bank of China conducted 360 billion yuan (around 55 billion U.S. dollars) of 28-day reverse repurchase agreements (repo) and 80 billion yuan of seven-day reverse repo, a process in which central banks purchase securities from banks with agreements to resell them in the future.

Bangladesh Bank on Tuesday received "Best Employer Award" from a private job portal. Bdjobs conferred the award at a function at central bank conference room, UNB reports. 

Bangladesh Bank governor Dr. Atiur Rahman received the award on behalf of the central bank. Deputy governors and other senior officials were present at the function.

Shafiqul Alam has recently been re-appointed as the managing director of Jamuna Bank, the bank said in a statement yesterday.

Alam has held the post since January 2013, according to the statement.

Alam has been the additional managing director of United Commercial Bank prior to joining Jamuna Bank.

He began his banking career with ANZ Grindlays Bank and has also worked with Prime Bank and First Security Islami Bank.
