NCC Bank holds training course
NCC Bank organised a training course on ‘AML & CFT’ for its officers and executives from Dhaka branches.
NCC Bank Training Institute arranged the training course at the bank’s training institute in Dhaka recently, said a press release.
TM Faruque Chowdhury, Deputy Managing Director of the bank, inaugurated the workshop as chief guest.
Faruque emphasised on the importance of Anti-Money Laundering and CFT Prevention.
He advised the participants to follow the ‘AML Guideline’ very meticulously against every transaction of day-to-day banking.
Islami Bank arranges tree plantation programme
Different branches of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited observed ‘Tree Plantation Programme-2013’ across the country.
The bank undertook the initiative to distribute 6 lakh 50 thousand saplings of indigenous fruits variety of tree through its 208 RDS affiliated branches under its Rural Development Scheme during this rainy season.
As a part of this campaign, Noapara, Swandip, Bashkhali, Charfashion, Patuakhali, Sirajganj, Kahalu and Sherpur highway branch of the bank kicked off the plantation programme.
Noapara branch of the bank inaugurated Tree Plantation and Sapling distribution programme at Al Helal Islami Academy premises.
Presided over by Abdus Sobhan, Branch Manager, the function was attended by Avoynagar Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive Magistrate Sifat Mehnaz as chief guest.
Saplings of fruits, herbal and wooden trees were distributed among 4500 RDS members of the branch. Swandip Branch of the bank inaugurated ‘Tree Plantation and Sapling Distribution Programme’ at the branch premises.
Md. Anwar Hossain, Branch Manager, presided over the function attended by Md. Shah Alam, Upazial Agriculture Officer as chief guest.
Saplings of indigenous fruits variety were distributed among 150 RDS members of the Branch in the the program.
Bashkhali Branch of the bank inaugurated Tree Plantation and Sapling distribution program at Bashkhali High School premises. Md. Ferdous, the Branch Manager, presided over the function.
Agrani Bank’s Laldighirpar branch shifted
Finance Minister AMA Muhith inaugurates a branch of Agrani Bank Limited at its new premises at Rangmahal Tower in Sylhet recently.
Agrani Bank Limited shifted its Laldighirpar Corporate Branch of Sylhet to Rangmahal Tower, the bank’s own building.
Finance Minister AMA Muhith recently inaugurated the branch as chief guest, said a press release on Monday.
Ariful Haque Chowdhury, Mayor, Sylhet City Corporation, Prof Dr. Khandker Bazlul Haque, Chairman, Agrani Bank, Abdus Zahir Sufian, Chairman, Sylhet Zilla Parishad were present at the function.
Mohammad Shams-ul-Islam, deputy managing director of Agrani Bank presided over the meeting.
Islami Bank launches ‘Waqf cash deposit account’
DHAKA, Sept 29: Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd (IBBL) launched its latest product Cash Waqf on Sunday.
The said account provides a unique opportunity for making investment in different religious, educational and social services, says a press release. Earlier, Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) has introduced
“Mudaraba Waqf Cash Deposit Account” (MWCDA) with aim to assist the underprivileged people in society. Waqf, a perpetual endowment, by the well-off and the rich people of the society and the income generated from waqf may be spent for different benevolent purposes.
The objectives of this deposit is to assist mobilization of social savings by creating Cash Waqf with a view to commemorating alive or deceased parents, children.
The account is also to strengthen the integration of the family relationship of the well-off people and the rich, to increase social investment and to transform the social savings into capital,
to benefit the poor sections of the people out of the resources of the rich, to create awareness among the rich regarding their social responsibilities and to make a unique integration of social security and social peace.
The Account can be opened in foreign currency. Any bonafide adult citizen of Bangladesh with sound mind may open this Account with any of IBBL with a title selected by the Waquif.
Two passport size photographs of the Waquif will be required to open this Account.
Bank will spend the fund in the following purposes and the Waquif will have the right to choose the purposes to be served either from the list or any other purposes permitted by the Shari'ah.
UCBL holds business review meeting
A business review meeting of United Commercial Bank Limited (UCBL) with the branch managers of Chittagong Division was held in Chittagong on Saturday.
The meeting was presided over by Muhammed Ali, Managing Director of the bank, said a press release. Mirza Mahmud Rafiqur Rahman, Additional Managing Director with other senior officials of the bank were present.
