Premier Bank opens 3 branches

Sheikh Talibur Rahman, SEVP and Manager, Dhanmondi branch inaugurates a branch of the bank at Sat Masjid Road at Dhanmondi, Dhaka.

The Premier Bank Limited, one of the leading private banks in the country, inaugurated three branches at different parts of the country.

The bank opened its 74th branch at Sat Masjid Road, Dhanmondi, Dhaka, while the 75th branch was inaugurated at Nazirhaat, Fatikchari in Chittagong and the 76th branch at Jamgora, Ashulia, Dhaka, said a press release.

Sheikh Talibur Rahman, Senior Executive Vice president (SEVP) and Manager, Dhanmondi branch inaugurated the branch at Dhanmondi at Chief Guest.

Md. Hasanul Hossain, Vice President and Manager, Uttara Branch and Kurshed Alam Chowdhury, Executive Vice President and Manager, Agrabad Branch opened the branched at Ashuli and Chittagong respectively.

IBBL distributes warm clothes among cold-hit people in city

Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited distributed winter clothes among the cold-stricken poor people through its branches at different parts of the country.

The bank recently distributed winter clothes through its Baridhara Branch to Kamalapur Railway Station and Khilgaon areas in the city. The bank has taken an initiative for distribution of 100,000 blankets, 90,000 thousand chador and 25,000 sweaters this year among the cold stricken people.

Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Managing Director of the bank distributed winter clothes as chief guest among the poor people at Kamalapur Railway Station and Khilgaon area in Dhaka city.

Engr. Md. Eskander Ali Khan distributed winter clothes among the cold stricken people as chief guest at Baridhara Branch of the bank.

IBBL, Grameen Shakti ink MoU on bio-gas plants

Md Abdul Mannan, Managing Director of Islami Bank, and Abser Kamal, acting Managing Director of Grameen Shakti, sign a MoU at the bank’s board room in Dhaka Sunday.

Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) signed a MoU with Grameen Shakti on installation of bio-gas plants in the rural areas.

Md Abdul Mannan, Managing Director of Islami Bank and Abser Kamal, acting Managing Director of Grameen Shakti, signed a MoU on behalf of their organisations at the bank’s board room in Dhaka Sunday, said a press release.

Syed Abdullah Md Saleh, Deputy Managing Director, Asheque Ahmad Jebal, Executive Vice President of the bank and Bikas Kumar Das, Head of Accounts of Grameen Shakti, Md Shamsul Haque, Md Habuibur Rahman, Engr. Md Abul Bashar, Md Habibur Rahman Bhuiyan, FCA, AKM Abdul Malek Chowdhury, executives and officers of both the organisations attended the function.

Md Abdul Mannan said, “ Islami Bank is trying to remove the inequality between the rich and the poor through equal distribution of wealth.”

BASIC Bank plays active role in economic uplift Says its chairman while opening a branch in Keraniganj

Sheikh Abdul Hai Bachhu, Chairman of BASIC Bank Limited, inaugurates the 62nd branch of the bank at East Aganagar in Keraniganj Sunday.

BASIC Bank has been playing an active role in ensuring overall development of the country’s economy. Besides earning profits, it has been also contributing a lot to the humanity.

The branch has been equipped with online banking facilities.
Kazi Fakrul Islam, Managing Director of the bank presided over the function while Md Ruhul Alam, General Manager of the bank moderated the function.


Sheikh Abdul Hai Bachhu said, the bank, being a hundred percent state-owned financial institution, can ensure safety of customers’ deposit.
Fazlus Sobhan, AQM Kibria and A Monayem Khan, Deputy General Managers of the bank were also present at the opening ceremony.


Md Khalilur Rahman, Chairman of Five Star Washing Dyeing, Milon Hossain, general secretary of Keraniganj Garments Samity spoke the function.


The board of directors under the able leadership of Sheikh Abdul Hai Bachhu has been able to launch 32 branches across the country so far.
Kazi Fakrul Islam said the bank was established in 1989 with a vision to play active role for the economic development of the country.


“In a shortest possible of time, the bank has been able to meet customers’ demand,” he added. He also said the bank is keen to set an example of providing fastest service to its customers across the country.


“While we took over the charges of the bank in 2009, there were only 30 branches. But the number has now reached at 62 across the country,” he added.


He said the bank has offered new schemes to its customers which can help increase the number of clients.
Kazi Fakrul Islam said, “The bank has developed an efficient credit management system. We have been appreciated for not sanctioning any loan without ensuring collateral.”


The bank is giving 50 percent loan to the SME sector including export, agriculture, large and small scale industries of the country.


Prior to opening the branch, Fakhrul told banglanews24 that the bank has been able to gradually expand its network as it has been gaining confidence of the depositors.

From now on, all modern commercial banking services will be provided to the customers from the branch.
