IFIC Bank Limited organised a view exchange meeting on SME financing with local entrepreneurs, trade associations, BWCCI representatives and women entrepreneurs in Bagerhat recently. The meeting stressed the need for exploring business opportunities to enhance SME finance with special concentration to productive sectors and women entrepreneurs, said a press release. Dhaka Bank declares cash, stock dividends

Abdul Hai Sarker, Chairman of Dhaka Bank Limited, attends the bank’s 20th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at Bashundhara Convention Center 2 in Dhaka on Wednesday.

Dhaka Bank Limited declared 14 percent cash and 10 percent stock dividends for the bank’s shareholders for the year ended on December 31, 2014. The declaration came at the bank’s 20th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at Bashundhara Convention Center 2 in Dhaka on Wednesday, said a press release. Abdul Hai Sarker, Chairman of the bank, presided over the meeting. Afroza Abbas, former vice-chairperson and Sponsor Shareholder, Reshadur Rahman, former chairman and Director, ATM Hayatuzzaman Khan, former chairman, Altaf Hossain Sarker, Mohammed Hanif, Md Amirullah, Abdullah Al Ahsan, Tahidul Hossain Chowdhury, Jashim Uddin, Khondoker Jamil Uddin, and Amanullah Sarker, Directors, Suez Islam and Syed Abu Naser Bukhtear Ahmed, Independent Directors, Aminul Islam, Khandaker Mohammad Shahjahan, Rakhi Das Gupta, former directors, and Niaz Habib, Managing Director of the bank, attended the meeting. Emranul Huq, Khan Shahadat Hossain, Shakir Amin Chowdhury, Deputy Managing Directors, Arham Masudul Huq, Company Secretary, and a good number of shareholders of the bank were present on the occasion.

Sadeque, Shamsuzzaman made DMDs of IBBL

Abdus Sadeque, Md Shamsuzzaman

Abdus Sadeque Bhuiyan, Head of International Banking Wing, and Md Shamsuzzaman, Head of Information and Communication Technology Wing, were recently promoted to Deputy Managing Directors (DMDs) of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL). Abdus Sadeque Bhuiyan started his career as a probationary officer of the bank in 1984. He obtained Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Social Science from University of Dhaka in 1981 and 1982 respectively. During his banking career, he worked as the Head of Development Wing, Branches Control Division, Human Resources Division and Deputy Chief Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer (DCAMLCO). Md Shamsuzzaman started his career as a probationary officer of the bank in 1984. He completed Masters Degree in Political Science from Chittagong University in 1983. He served as the Head of Business Promotion and Marketing Division and Asset Management Division of the bank.
