Trust Bank holds 12th AGM
Trust Bank 12th Annual General Meeting of the Bank was held at Golf Garden, Army Golf Club,in the city on Wednesday, says a press release. General Mohammad Abdul Mubin, chief of army staff and chairman of the bank presidedover the meeting. Major General Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Haque, adjutant general of Bangladesh army and vice-chairman, members of the board of director, S A Sarwar , managing director and CEO and large number of share holders attended the meeting. The meeting declared 20per cent bonus share and 1 right share against each 5 shares for the share holders. Besides overall financial position, audit report and future plan of the bank presented before the share holders.

RKUB and Pacific Solar and Renewable Energy Limited (PSREL), Dhaka have signed a MoU
Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank and Pacific Solar and Renewable Energy Limited (PSREL), Dhaka have signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the head office of RAKUB on Wednesday. Abdul Halim, general manager, Head Office, RAKUB and Ibrahim Lodhi, managing director of PSREL signed the MoU in favour of their respective organisations.
The MoU signing function was attended, among others by Prodip Kumar Dutta, managing director, Siddiqur Rahman, deputy managing director of Divisional Office of the bank, Nazmul Haque, general manager, and Younus Ali, head of Loan and Advance of RAKUB respectively.

HSBC awards top exporters
The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corp- oration (HSBC) Limited in Bangladesh recently honourded five exporters with the ‘HSBC Export Excellence Awards 2010’ for their outstanding performance in 2010.
Each of the exporters was awarded with the ‘Exporters of the Year’ trophy during a function at a city hotel recently, said a press release.
The award is an initiative of the bank to recognise the ingenuity of Bangladesh exports, the statement said.
Planning Minister AK Khandker attended the function as chief guest.
The awards were given five categories including RMG (readymade garments) and textiles exporters (Group A and Group B), EPZ enterprises, traditional and emerging sectors and SMEs.
Square Textiles and Intertab Shirt Manufacturing Limited received the awards in Group A and Group B, Pacific Jeans Limited in EPZ enterprises, Apex Adelchi Footwear Limited in traditional and emerging sectors and Graphic People Limited won the award in SMEs category.
Sanjay Prakash, chief executive officer, Md Mahbub-ur Rahman- head of Corporate Banking, of HSBC Bangladesh, were also present at the function.

Prime Bank executive committee gets new chairman and vice-chairman
The board of directors of Prime Bank Limited in its 363rd meeting elected Md. Shirajul Islam Mollah as the chairman of the executive committee of the board of directors of the Bank for the next term of two years effective from June 01, 2011 to May 31, 2013; while Tanjil Chowdhury was elected as the vice-chairman of the executive committee for the same period, says a press release.
Mr. Mollah is the managing director of China-Bangla Ceramic Industries Ltd., Bajnabo Textile Mills Ltd, Bengal Tiger Cement Industries Ltd and United Shipping Lines Ltd.
A member of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), Mr. Mollah was the Executive Committee Chairman of Prime Bank during 2003-04. He is a sponsor director of Prime Bank.
Mr. Tanjil Chowdhury, is the director of Prime Bank Limited. He is the managing director of East Coast Group of companies, a diversified conglomerate with primary focus on Oil, Energy and Shipping.
