Mutual Trust Bank approves 15pc stock dividend

Mutual Trust Bank Chairman MA Rouf presides over the 18th annual general meeting of the company at the Army Golf Club in the capital on Tuesday.

Mutual Trust Bank Limited approved 15 percent stock dividend for its shareholders for the year 2016.

The approval came at the company’s 18th annual general meeting held at the Army Golf Club in the city on Tuesday, said a press release.
 MTB Chairman MA Rouf presided over the meeting.

Chowdhury, Dr. Arif Dowla, Md. Abdul Malek, Md. Wakiluddin, Anjan Chowdhury, QAFM Serajul Islam, Independent Director, Anwarul Amin, Managing Director and CEO, Anis A. Khan, Additional Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, Md. Hashem Chowdhury, Deputy Managing Directors and a large number of shareholders attended the meeting.  

In 2016, MTB earned net profit after tax of  Tk 1,464 million which was 7 percent higher than that of 2015.

Earnings per share (EPS) grew to Tk 3.30 from Tk 3.08. The bank's balance-sheet footing increased by 13 percent, as at the end of 2016, compared to the previous year.

Deposits grew by 11 percent, loans and advances rose by 17 percent. The capital adequacy ratio (CAR) grew to 11.29 percent, compared to the minimum required rate of 10 percent.
