Md Khurshed Alam, Head of SME of Eastern Bank Ltd, hands over a cheque to a banana farmer of Dhamrai at a function at Savar branch premises in Dhaka Monday.

Eastern Bank Limited (EBL) has distributed loans to banana cultivators of Dhamrai area.

The bank has started disbursing loans for banana growers as part of its compliance to the agricultural policy set by the central bank.

Md Khurshed Alam, Head of SME of Eastern Bank, handed over the cheque for the loan amounts among the farmers at Savar branch premises of the bank in Dhaka Monday, said a press release.

Anwar Faruq Talukder, Head (Small Business), Mohibul Amanul Chowdhury of Savar Branch, Md Aolad Hossain, Agricultural Business of EBL, attended the function. Khurshed Alam said, "EBL is ready to extend support to farmers engaging in diversification of crop culture of the country."

EBL has a plan to disburse loan to flower cultivators of Dhamrai area.
