The government has extended the contract of Abul Kashem as Bangladesh Bank deputy governor for one more year. The public administration ministry issued a circular on Wednesday saying that the tenure of Abul Kashem was extended in continuation of his previous agreement with the government. The government appointed Abul Kashem as deputy governor of the BB on July 7, 2011 for four years on contractual basis. The contract ended on July 7, this year.
