Agrani Bank has launched ‘agent banking’ service to provide rural people with necessary banking and financial services at their doorsteps at lower cost and faster pace than banks’ branches.

Agrani Bank will initially operate such services in Pangsha of Rajbari and Shahastaganj of Habiganj through its vender organization ‘DOER’ for three months as a pilot scheme.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Agrani Bank Syed Abdul Hamid formally launched the service at a programme held at its head-office here today.

“Farmers will be able to open account at Tk 10. The agent bank will bring more people especially small and marginal farmers under the institutional financial system,” he added.
