Mercantile Bank inks deal on IT platform
A K M Shahidul Haque, Managing Director and CEO of Mercantile Bank Limited, Shahzaman Mozumder (Bir Protik), Chief Executive Officer of Thakral Information systems Pvt. Ltd, Jalaluddin Ahmed Yeamin, Managing Director of Everest International Limited, Momluk Sabir Ahmed, Managing Director and CEO of Computer Services Limited and Hussein Shaheed Feroz, Director of Flora Limited signed the agreement on behalf of their companies.
Mercantile Bank Limited signed an agreement recently at a local hotel with Thakral Information System Pvt. Ltd., Everest International Limited, Computer Services Limited and Flora Limited to build up IT-infrastructure for providing modern technological banking services to its valued customers.
Under this agreement Bank will procure IBM Servers, Oracle Database, Data Center and Disaster Recovery Site, External Disk Storage-EMC and secured Network to extend modern banking facilities to all segments of customers.

Pubali Bank recommends 25pc stock and 5pc cash dividend
The Pubali Bank Limited recommended for 25 per cent stock dividend and 5 per cent cash dividend.
The decision came at the Bank’s 864th board meeting held recently. Hafiz Ahmed Mazumder, MP, chairman, Board of Directors of Pubali Bank, presided over the meeting. Board of directors approved the audited Balance Sheet for December 31, 2011.
The Bank’s 29th annual general meeting will be held on March 31st at 11:30 am at BRAC-CDM, Rajendrapur, Gazipur.

SBL stands by two journo families
Quazi Baharul Islam, Chairman of Sonali Bank Limited, hands over a cheque to Poly Sarkar, the wife of late Dinesh Das at Sonali Bank head office in the city on Sunday.
Sonali Bank Limited (SBL) gave Tk 150,000 to Poly Sarkar, the wife of journalist Dinesh Das who was killed in a road mishap recently.
The Bank also gave Tk 100,000 to another journalist Nikhil Chandra Bhadro who lost one of his legs in another road accident recently, says a press release.
Quazi Baharul Islam, Chairman of Sonali Bank Limited handed over the cheques at a function at the premises of the Bank’s head office on Sunday.

PBL opens money transfer service in London
Dr. H B M Iqbal, Chairman of Premier Bank Limited, inaugurates Premier Money Transfer Company Limited in London recently. Bangladesh High Commissioner to the UK Dr. M Sayeedur Rahman Khan is also seen.
Premier Bank Limited (PBL) recently launched a subsidiary namely Premier Money Transfer Company Limited (PMTCL) at Whitechaple Technology Centre in London, UK.
