  • Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) aligns current activities within Global Risk and helps to build these into a more integrated framework to conduct Customer Due Diligence which enables HSBC to manage financial crime risk more effectively. It builds stronger controls to improve the way Financial Crime Compliance risks are managed in order to spot gaps as well as trends so that the team can take action. It proactively gathers and analyses financial intelligence in a smart way so that suspicious transactions, activities or connections can be identified and we can adequately protect our customers from the threat of financial crime. As part of Global Risk, Regulatory Compliance (RC) ensures adherence to applicable regulations and standards by setting the policies which cover HSBC's regulatory requirements, and mitigate conduct and reputational risk issues. The team strives to remain ahead of the regulatory change agenda and ensures the business understands the implications and is prepared for change. It monitors how the Global Businesses and Functions manage their responsibilities with regard to complying with the regulations and helps resolve compliance deficiencies.
  • In this role, you will:
  • Manage FCC/RC monitoring related tasks across the following business lines in DAK - Global Banking and Markets (GBM), Commercial Banking (CMB), Retail Banking and Wealth Management (RBWM)
  • Coordinate the Compliance Risk Assessment process across different business lines on an ongoing basis and obtain business sign-offs
  • Oversee production and issue Monitoring Reports and Management Information (MI) to both Business and Senior Management
  • Control the production, delivery and completion of compliance monitoring plans to include continuous, periodic and themed reviews
  • Test the adequacy of controls in place within the business and to identify potential and actual breaches and escalate regulatory breaches to business and Head of FCC/RC in order that appropriate action can be undertaken to rectify
  • Provide guidance and support to the relevant staffs in FCC/RC functions
