Trust Bank brings insurance facility for clients
Trust Bank Limited (TBL) recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Pragati Life Insurance Limited (PLI) to provide insurance coverage to the clients of the bank's three savings and loan products.
Clients under ---'Trust Thikana-Home Loan, 'Trust Assurance Deposit Scheme' and "Trust Sristi', will get the facility following the MoU, said a press release.
M M Haikal Hashmi, deputy managing director of TBL and Quamrul Hasan, deputy managing director of PLI, signed the MOU on behalf of their respective sides.
TBL has recently introduced new saving product 'Trust Porua' to provide school banking services.
Ms. Ferdousi Begum, vice president and head of Retail, Ms. Mahmuda Momen, assistant vice president of Trust Bank and M. M. Monirul Alam, ADMD of Pragati Life Insurance, were also present at the function.

SIBL launches new deposit products
Social Islami Bank Ltd yesterday launched four deposit products as a part of its campaign to mark the month of country’s independence in a befitting manner. The deposit schemes--- Swapner Shiri, Sonali Din, Shachhondo Protidin and Shomriddhir Shopan, were outlined during a meeting at the board room of the bank’s head office in the city, said a press release. The bank has chalked out two campaigns--Shadhinotar Chetonai Amader Nibedon(A gift inspired by the spirit of independence) and Amader Sheba( Our Services) to celebrate the month. Under the scheme ‘Swapner Shiri’ a person’s dream to become a ‘Lakhopoti’ will come true with in 2, 3, 5 or 10 years. With ‘Sonali Din’, a depositor can withdraw the total amount at once or as monthly pension basis with attractive profit after maturity of the scheme. Under the product ‘Shachhondo Protidin’ an account holder can withdraw Taka 1,000 per month by depositing Taka 1.00 lakh for a three-year period. In ‘Shomriddhir Shopan’ the scheme holder’s deposited money will be double with in six years.

EBL brings banking service for juvenile
Eastern Bank Ltd (EBL) recently introduced "EBL Junior", a savings account for students, to bring the young generation under banking umbrella and help them learn the benefits of savings.
EBL Managing Director and CEO Ali Reza Iftekhar formally launched the new product of the bank at function at RAJUK Uttara Model College yesterday, said a press release.
The students, aged between 11 and 17 years, can open this account at any EBL branches jointly with their parents.
The account comes with internet banking, ATM and cheque book facilities which need to be operated by the parents only, the statement added.
EBL Junior offers 6 percent interest on daily balance to be paid semi-annually. This will help the fund in the account grow at a faster rate than the conventional savings account.

BRAC bank opens new service booths
BRAC Bank Limited has opened two service booths at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport recently to provide remittance and other banking services to the outbound passengers with a special focus on non-resident Bangladeshis (NRBs).
Shafique Alam Mehdi, civil aviation and tourism secretary, formally inaugurated the booths as the chief guest, said a press release.
BRAC Bank plays a vital role in bringing remittance of approximately Tk 45 billion in the country per year, the news release added.
Syed Mahbubur Rahman, managing director and CEO of BRAC Bank, senior officials of Civil Aviation Authority and the bank were also present at the function.
The booths ---‘Probashi Kollyan Booth’ and ‘Probashi Biniyog Booth’ was set up at the departure lounge in terminal 1 and 2 to provide foreign currency exchange services, account opening, remittance advice, information about legal remittance channels and authorised remittance houses, internet banking and investment in capital market facilities to the Bangladeshis expatriates, the statement added.
The civil aviation and tourism secretary praised the role of BRAC Bank for setting up the booths for the well being and convenience of expatriates Bangladeshis. He also hoped that the booths would play a vital role in promoting remittance inflow through legal channels.

EBL launches Visa cards to mark the World Cup
Eastern Bank Ltd yesterday launched a limited edition of ten Visa prepaid cards to mark the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup.
EBL Managing Director and CEO Ali Reza Iftekhar launched the special prepaid cards during a press briefing at a city hotel, said a press release.
Coloured after the ten test playing nations –the card is first of its kind in Bangladesh and all over the world, the news release added.
Anyone can buy a prepaid visa card from selected EBL branches and use it at more than ten thousand shops, restaurants and ATMs countrywide.
The card will be sold at zero balance and the buyer can load any amount up to Tk 50,000.
Muklesur Rahman, deputy managing director (DMD) for Consumer Banking of EBL, DMD of Corporate Banking M. Fakhrul Alam, Head of Cards Nazeem A.
