Sonali Bank Ltd, the largest commercial bank of the country, confirmed jobs of its 1,004 temporary employees.

Kazi Baharul Islam, Chairman, of the board of directors of the bank, yesterday formally handed over appointment letters to 20 employees as a token, said a press release.

Members of the board of directors and higher officials of the bank were present on the occasion. The rest of the appointment letters will be handed over to the employees in their respective branches.

After handing over appointment letter, chairman said: “These employees have been working in the bank near about two decades and passing their lives in miserable conditions. But those days has gone over.”

“It’s a long-waited occasion,” he said expecting that theses employees will utilise their experience in banking job contribute to overall improvement of the bank.
