Police handed over the Gold seized in Ctg to Bangladesh Bank

Police have handed over the gold bars and ornaments worth 10 crore, seized from an electronics warehouse in Chittagong, to Bangladesh Bank on Monday, reports UNB.

Marjina Aktar, officer in-charge of Sadarghat police station, handed over the gold weighing 20kgs to the bank authorities in presence of Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate Farid Alam.

Quoting Morjina Aktar UNB said seized gold bars and ornaments have been handed over to Bangladesh Bank volt following a court order.

There were 120 gold bars weighing 14kgs and 200 grams and 16 items of gold ornaments weighing 5kgs and 800 grams among the seized gold.

Police seized the gold in a drive from a warehouse of an electronics selling firm at West Madarbari of Sadar thana of the city on April 8.

Manager of the warehouse Titu, 35, and employee Emran 27, were arrested during the drive.

Investigation is going on and everyone involved will be arrested, said Marjina Aktar.
