BB role in development of SMEs appreciated

The role of Bangladesh Bank in contributing to the development of the country’s small and medium entrepreneurs has been praised by the business bodies and stakeholders of India.
Bangladesh Bank said this in a statement on Sunday. Dr. Atiur Rahman visited Delhi in last week and attended several programs organized by IamSMEofIndia and National Small Scale Industries Corporation of India (NSIC), mentioned the central bank statement.
During the visit, BB Governor met with Indian President Pranab Mukherjee at Rastrapati Bhaban  and also the Minister of MSME Kalraj Mishra where he discussed about the progress of MSME sector of Bangladesh and possible cooperation with Indian MSMEs in the future.
He also attended a meeting with Chief General Manager of SIDBI, a leading financial institution dedicated for development of small industries in India.
Dr. Rahman attended a programme titled "The Tryst with the Visionary Leaders" where he received and welcomed by Chairman of IamSMEofIndia, Chairman of EXIM Bank and Chairman of NSIC, other promising leaders, bankers, entrepreneurs and members of IamSMEofIndia.
