Prime Bank Limited (PBL) has received the Bizz 2012 – Inspirational Company Award, says a press release.

PBL deputy managing director and CFO Ahmed Kamal Khan Chowdhury received the award recently from World Confederation of Businesses (WORLDCOB) at a programme held in Barcelona, Spain.

Bizz – 2012 is the recognition for the most outstanding companies in the world, who have consistently exceeded the expectations in their respective industry and market.

According to the release, PBL won this award in recognition of its consistent growth, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and use of technology.

Badiur Rahman, Chairman of Al-Arafah Islami Bank Ltd, presides over a meeting at a hotel in Dhaka.

The 224th meeting of the Board of Directors of Al-Arafah Islami Bank Ltd was held at a city hotel.

Badiur Rahman, Chairman of the Bank, presided over the meeting, said a press release on Wednesday.

Vice-chairman of the Bank SM Shameem Iqbal, members, Md Harun-Ar-Rashid Khan, Nazmul Ahsan Khaled, Abdul Malek Mollah, Md Enayetullah, Abdul Moktadir, Ahamedul Hoque, Abdus Samad, A N M Yeahea, Engineer Kh Mesbah Uddin Ahmed, Abdus Salam, Niaz Ahmed, Md Ashik Hossain, Mohammad Emadur Rahman, Md Rafiqul Islam and Dr Momtaz Uddin Ahmed attended the meeting.

The Central Intelligence Cell (CIC) of the NBR Wednesday asked all banks and FIs to search and freeze all bank accounts of those three directors.

The directors are: Nepal Chandra Biswas, Sheikh Taiebur Rahman and Asraful Amin.

According to the instruction of NBR, banks will have to furnish accounts details of the directors with the information of tax return files within next seven days for scrutiny.

Earlier, the revenue board had frozen bank accounts of five directors of the Group.

An NBR official said they have suspended transaction from the bank accounts to investigate suspected tax evasion by the Destiny directors.
