State-owned Rupali Bank has set up a foreign exchange booth at Shahjalal International Airport eying on channeling more forex into the country.

Chairman of the bank and also an eminent economist Ahmad Al Kabir formally inaugurated the booth at the ground floor of SIA on Sunday.

Managing director M Farid Uddin, directors Sheikh Sirajul Haque Farazi, Kazi Morshed Hossain, SM Mahfuzur Raham, Ad Abdus Salam, Saiful Islam, Prof Syed Ahsanul Alam, Prof Moyeen Uddin, Abul Kalam Chowdhury, among others, were also present at the function.

Pubali Bank Limited (PBL), Mehedibag branch of Chittagong, was recently shifted to new premise to provide better and modern banking services.

IFIC Bank Ltd conducted a day-long course on "Prevention of Money Laundering and Combating Financing of Terrorism” at its Academy at Chamber Building at Motijheel.

A total number of 88 officers from 31 branches and Head Office of the bank attended the course, said a press release.
