BB training on liquidity risks management begins
The central bank on Sunday launched a special training programme on liquidity risks management and improvement in financial reporting for mid-level executives of all the banks.
Executives of 48 banks took part in the three-day training programme. "The objective of the training is to improve the banks' capacity to evade liquidity crisis," S K Sur Chowdhury, executive director of Bangladesh Bank (BB), told reporters after inauguration of the training.
Chowdhury hoped that the training would help the bank executives to prepare net stable funding ratio, liquidity coverage ratio, structural liquidity profile and appropriate financial reports on performance of the respective bank.
He said the training module includes orientation on financial reporting and appropriate tools for liquidity risk management as per BASEL III requirements. He said the central bank has planned to implement BASEL III from the coming year as almost all banks have put into practice the BASEL II.

IBBL holds 5-day Islamic micro-finance training
A five-day training course on ‘Islamic Micro Finance’ got underway at head office of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) in the city on Saturday.
IBBL orgainsed the training for the executives of Microfinance Support Centre Limited in Ugandan capital Kampala, says a press release.
Engr. Mustafa Anwar, Acting Chairman of IBBL, was present at the inaugural function as chief guest while Engr. Md. Eskander Ali Khan, Chairman of Executive Committee attended as special guest.

NCCBL opens new branch in M’bazar
Md Nurun Newaz Salim, chairman of NCC Bank Limited is seen inaugurating the 86th branch of the Bank at Sreemangal in Moulvibazar on Sunday.
National Credit and Commerce Bank Limited (NCCBL) has opened its 86th branch with online facility at Sreemangal in Moulvibazar yesterday.
Md. Nurun Newaz Salim, chairman of the Bank inaugurated the branch as chief guest while Mohammed Nurul Amin, managing director and CEO presided over the function, said a press release.
Khairul Alam Chaklader, former vice chairman of the Bank, Sreemangal upazila chairman Ranadhir Deb, Poura Mayor Mohsin Miah Madhu, renowned businessmen and senior executives of the Bank were also present on the occasion.

Chairman of the bank Md Nurun Newaz Salim in his speech said that various steps have been taken to facilitate remittance from various countries of the world through NCC Bank and added that the bank is going to open an Exchange House in London very soon.
